Episode 45 of the everythingicafe.com podcast is now available in iTunes. In this episode, Chris Meinck and I talked about the latest iOS 5 beta, the Mac App Store’s latest milestone, rumors about the iPad 3, and more.

Chris’s Teh Awesome this week was Apple’s Cards app to send a thank-you card to a family member. Cards let him personalize it with a picture and text easily, and even notified him when the card had been mailed.

My Teh Awesome was the retro cassette tape case for the iPhone 4/4S that I mentioned earlier this week. It’s superbly cute and nostalgia-provoking (for those of you like me with fond memories of cassette tapes)and is well worth the $3 or so it costs.

After a short break in our recording schedule since I was out of town last week, Chris Meinck and I recorded episode 42 of the everythingicafe.com podcast on Tuesday evening and it’s now available for download through iTunes. There were a lot of topics on the agenda to catch up on two weeks of news and rumors. We talked about iTunes Match, iOS 5.0.1, iPad 3 rumors, and Siri, including a statement that purportedly came from an Apple rep stating that Siri would not be made available on older devices. Chris doesn’t buy this but I think it’s probably true.

Chris’s Teh Awesome this week was Photo Stream. He enjoys this new feature available through iCloud with iPhoto, devices running iOS 5 and the Apple TV 2.

My Teh Awesome was the P90X app that came out late last week. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a popular home fitness program that was released in 2003 consisting of defined workouts (available via DVD) and a diet plan. I completed the program earlier this year and was happy with the results and I was very excited to see the official app debut. It offers all of the guided workouts (via in-app purchase) and lets you track your meals and progress. I purchased all of the workouts so I can exercise without being stuck in front of my TV and DVD player.

I don’t have any more trips planned that will pull me away from the podcast until January (CES 2012 – w00t!) so I think we’re back to our regular Tuesday evening (7:00 p.m. ET) recording schedule now. Chris Meinck and I talked about rumors of a Siri-powered Apple TV and the iPad 3 display, as well as the parts cost of the iPhone 4S. We also talk about a new product recently announced by former Apple executive, Tony Fadell, who was heavily involved in the development of the iPod. His new product has many people excited, including Chris, even though it really falls in a home appliance category not previously known to be very thrilling.

My Teh Awesome of the week is the Verbs IM app by #include tech. I recently switched to Verbs IM from Beejive. While Beejive is a solid app, it’s got a ton of extra features that I really don’t need and Verbs IM has a more straightforward and appealing interface without all the extra bells and whistles.

Chris’s selection this week was actually a Teh Suck related to Apple’s decision to use the micro SIM form factor for the iPhone 4 and 4S. In order to use his iPhone’s SIM in other phones, he has to use a micro SIM adapter make it fit. And this adapter has caused many other problems for him, most recently the destruction of a brand new Pre 3 he recently got.
