everythingiCafe: the show “Waste”

everythingiCafe: the showI have been really behind on posting about our new podcast episodes (but if you subscribe to our podcast in iTunes or through an excellent app like Downcast, you’ll always get the latest episode automatically – hint, hint) but better late than never. Especially for episode 70 where Chris and I talk about our first impressions of the bigger, faster, and stronger iPhone 5.

We recorded this episode on release day – Chris got his iPhone 5 from a local Apple Store and mine was delivered by my wonderful UPS guy at 9:06 am that morning (after I did many neurotic things waiting for him to get here).

We’ll be recording another episode very soon with more of our impressions of iOS 6 and the iPhone 5 now that we’ve had them for several days now along with the latest iPhone and iPad news and rumors.

everythingiCafe: the show “Love of Vampires”

Chris Meinck and I recorded episode 64 of the everythingiCafe.com podcast earlier this week and it’s now available through iTunes. If you like our show, please do subscribe! (I’d recommend Downcast if you’re looking for an app to manage your podcast subscriptions on the iPhone or iPad, by the way.)

Chris and I talked about iPhone 5 (or 6, if you want to get technical about the number of iPhone generations to date) rumors, more 7-inch iPad rumors, and some news about iOS 6. We also revisited our respective predictions of the date of the new iPhone’s release. Chris’s guess is September 28 while mine is October 5. Hopefully we’ll learn who’s right sooner rather than later.

everythingiCafe: the show “Skeuomorphism”

Chris and I recorded episode 61 of the everythingiCafe.com podcast a few days ago and it’s now available for your listening pleasure through iTunes. We talked about Apple’s new Podcasts app, rumors about NFC in the next iPhone model, and more rumors about a smaller dock connector in that new iPhone, and more.

Chris’s Teh Awesome was iHandy’s Flashlight app for the iPhone that helped him out a lot during an electrical outage last week. My Teh Awesome was the new Launch Center Pro app by App Cubby. Launch Center Pro is a utility app that lets you create shortcuts to complete actions in other apps. For example, you can create shortcuts to immediately dial a FaceTime call with a selected contact, do a Google search in Safari, and much more. As I said in the podcast, I think it’s more of a pro user app that has a lot of potential but takes time to set up. If you want more information about Launch Center Pro, check out Chris’s review and my post about it at AppShopper.

everythingiCafe: the show “Plastic Dinosaur Magnet”

Chris and I recorded episode 60 of the everythingicafe.com podcast a few days ago and it’s now available to download through iTunes. Of course, most of the items on the docket came from Apple’s announcements at the WWDC keynote on Monday.

First, I have to apologize for my audio quality on this one. Thanks to some sh*tty LogMeIn sound drivers, my iMac’s audio input was all jacked up and it was recording through my Mac’s microphone instead of the real Shure mic that it was supposed to be using (even though the audio input setting in the Sound control panel was telling me otherwise). Right now, my recommendation is to avoid using LogMeIn on a Mac running Lion if you’re doing anything audio-related until they fix these sound driver issues – turns out there are several posts in the LogMeIn forums about this.

everythingiCafe: the show “I think I just did a woohoo”

Chris Meinck and I recorded episode 59 of the everythingicafe.com iPhone and iPad podcast and it’s now available in iTunes for your listening pleasure. This is our first episode in several weeks since I was traveling (which was my last trip for this year!). Apologies for our sporadic schedule recently but we really do hope to get back on our regular schedule after Chris and his family finish their move.

Chris and I talked about new iPhone rumors, the upcoming iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak, and more reports of an impending 7-inch iPad to be released later this year. Hit the break for more plus our selections for the Teh Awesome segment of the podcast.
